Two-Click Shopify OAuth — No Middleware, No Engineering Tickets

How do I connect RevvUp.ai to my Shopify store without writing code or filing dev tickets?

No middleware. No engineering tickets.

The integration step is where most AI visibility platforms lose their first 30 days. Generic GEO tools require manual export, CSV uploads, custom API wiring, or a developer ticket to install a JavaScript SDK before you can see your first audit. RevvUp.ai is built for Shopify natively — you connect with two clicks of standard OAuth and your first prompt graph, citation baseline, and audit are ready inside 60 seconds. No middleware. No engineering tickets. No data leaving your control. The setup that takes other platforms 2–4 weeks of back-and-forth ships before lunch.

In one sentence: Connecting RevvUp.ai is the same OAuth flow as installing any standard Shopify app — fast, native, and fully reversible.

What "two-click" actually means

The full connection flow, in literal steps:

  1. Click "Connect Shopify" in the RevvUp.ai signup
  2. Click "Install" on the standard Shopify OAuth permission screen

That's the full integration. Behind the scenes, Shopify generates an OAuth token scoped to the permissions we requested; we store it encrypted; we begin reading your catalog data.

What runs immediately after that second click:

All of this typically completes within 60 seconds. The first thing you see after the OAuth screen is your actual baseline, not a "setup wizard, please continue."

Why this matters for your team

A few specifics on what two-click OAuth removes from your project plan:

No middleware. Some AI visibility platforms require installing a Tag Manager script, a custom JavaScript SDK on your theme, or a separate analytics layer to gather data. We don't. The Shopify Admin API gives us everything we need; we don't inject anything into your storefront.

No engineering tickets. Some platforms require dev work just to start measuring — adding tracking scripts, configuring webhooks, exposing custom endpoints. We don't. OAuth handles it. If you can install a Shopify app, you can install RevvUp.ai.

No CSV exports or manual product feeds. We pull catalog data directly via the Shopify Admin API. No exports to maintain, no feed files to update, no manual sync to monitor. New products you add to your catalog show up in our platform within minutes via webhook sync (see Webhook sync).

No data leaving your control. OAuth gives us scoped access to specific Shopify resources. We don't move data into a separate database that's harder to revoke; the permissions are granted at the Shopify layer and can be revoked from your Shopify admin at any time with a single click.

No third-party broker. Some AI visibility tools route data through aggregation services or third-party data brokers. We don't. The connection is direct between RevvUp.ai and your Shopify store.

What permissions we ask for (and why)

Transparency on OAuth scopes matters. Here's exactly what we request and what each scope is used for:

ScopeUsed for
`read_products`Catalog read for prompt mapping and audit
`read_inventory`Variant-level availability for AI feed eligibility
`read_orders` (limited)Revenue attribution against actual checkouts
`read_metafields`Existing structured data, certifications, ingredients
`write_metafields`Push structural fixes (only after explicit per-fix approval)
`read_content`PDP and content page parsing
`write_themes` (limited)Schema.org JSON-LD insertion (reversible)
`read_publications`Sales channel and Agentic Storefronts integration

Write scopes are requested but not exercised without explicit per-fix approval through the Fix workflow. The default mode is read-only audit. Write happens only when you approve specific changes — and every write is fully reversible for 90 days.

What this looks like for headless / Hydrogen stores

The OAuth flow is identical for Hydrogen and headless Shopify stores. The integration works at the Shopify Admin API level, which is independent of your storefront framework. For headless teams, additional integration touchpoints are available via the API-native SDK — but the foundational connection step is the same two clicks.

What you can revoke and how

Disconnecting RevvUp.ai is as simple as connecting:

  1. Open your Shopify Admin → Settings → Apps and sales channels
  2. Find RevvUp.ai in your installed apps
  3. Click "Uninstall"

Upon uninstall:

Schema markup, metafields, and llms.txt files we've previously written to your store remain in place after uninstall (they're your data now), but we can also bulk-revert them on request before you uninstall if you want a clean slate.

What this means in practice

For most Shopify brands evaluating RevvUp.ai, the practical implication of two-click OAuth is this: you can run a real audit, see real prompt-level visibility, and make a real evaluation decision in the same hour you first hear about us. No procurement cycle, no IT review, no dev ticket. If after seeing your audit you decide we're not the right fit, you uninstall and move on. There's no implementation sunk cost to walk away from.

Run a free RevvUp.ai audit — connect your Shopify store in 60 seconds.

Questions

Standard Shopify OAuth app. We're listed in the Shopify App Store (Built for Shopify certification pending — see Built for Shopify certification). The OAuth flow is identical to any other Shopify app you've installed.
No. RevvUp.ai works with all Shopify plans — Basic, Shopify, Advanced, Plus. Some features (especially the agentic-commerce-readiness work for headless stores and Shopify Plus Organization integration) go further on Plus, but the core platform works on any plan. See Shopify Plus & Hydrogen.
The OAuth scopes we request are the minimum needed for the platform to function. We can run in a more restricted read-only mode if you don't want to grant write scopes — this disables the Fix one-click push but leaves all measurement, audit, and reporting functional.
No conflicts in our experience. RevvUp.ai operates on metafield and Schema.org layers that don't overlap with checkout, marketing, or fulfillment apps. We've been tested alongside Klaviyo, Yotpo, Stamped, Recharge, Skio, Aftership, and dozens of other commonly-installed apps without issues.
Two ways. First, OAuth scopes are visible at install time — you see exactly what we're requesting. Second, Shopify itself audits OAuth app permissions for safety as part of App Store approval. We're transparent about every scope and why we use it (table above).
Connect each store individually with its own two-click OAuth. For brand portfolios and multi-store operators, see Solutions · Multi-store / Multi-brand for the consolidated dashboard view across stores.
